Item Upgrading: What's No One Is Talking About
World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can increase the value of armors, weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses like PvE damage and crit chance.
If the template for upgrading a weapon is %, it will be able to gain 3percent of its previous damage for every time it's upgraded.
The cost of upgrading an item increases as it reaches the current level of the item. The cost rises with item's level.
Components
Upgrade components can be incorporated into trinkets, armor, and weapons to give them a boost in stats or add a bonus effect. These can be obtained by making crafts, buying from vendors or trading with other players, or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be placed in equipment that has a slot to accommodate them. The item level upgrade must have been at a minimum upgraded to blue level in order for the component to be used. Upgrade components, unlike other mods can only be applied once. They cannot be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and enrichments are a specific kind of upgrade component that is used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment and some of the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and enrichments can be recovered by salvaging ascended gear or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, item upgrader Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade can have a prefix or suffix that alters the name of the equipment with which it is used (for instancethe 'Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, which lets players to create stronger versions using less Upgrade crystals than they need to reach the same level using normal methods.
A boost upgrade is a way to alter the attack or defense properties of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades can be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanical. They can be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or purchasing them from the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals.
Each upgrade increases the probability that a better-quality version of the item will be available at the next reset. This gives players the opportunity to upgrade their equipment even in the event that they don't know how much it can be improved upon the reset.
The process of upgrading an item could be costly and it's possible that the item upgrader kit will eventually become obsolete or even break when the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed if the upgrade fails. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items that increase or even eliminate the possibility of failure, and some upgrades that provide the benefit of being reinserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to upgrade the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets that are specifically designed for. Glyphs boost the power of all nodes within a radius around them, including pre-existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in numerous ways. We recommend upgrading them as fast as possible to level 15.
You'll often see in the final game that placing Glyphs is a great way to upgrade your gear. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded directly to level 15 and provide significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes much faster.
Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced, however Glyphs are the one upgrade component that can be removed and put back in place without restriction. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and rebuilt with the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
Each Glyph has a particular range of values that it can improve a stat by. The value is shown when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can decide to replace it with a different Glyph of the same rank, or a higher rank, which will increase the value of the glyph.
Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of the Gem Store bundle or purchase them with certain tools that are unlimited in use as well as during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt can drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
Once you have the desired Glyphs, you will have to attach them to your equipment. Each Glyph will unlock a unique bonus that will boost a particular set of stat nodes within a radius around the Glyph. It could be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats, based on the Glyph.
Glyphs will boost all nodes connected to them, therefore it is best to place Glyphs in key spots on the Graph. This will increase the impact. For instance that a Druid should try to position their Glyphs close to their primary damage points, but you should also think about placing them near crucial damage nodes as well.
Leveling
The item upgrade system allows players to boost the stats of specific items by inserting upgraded components. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has an amount that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum of 385. Each level of an item requires a different number of components to reach, and the upgrade costs increase as the item gets advanced in level.
Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be bought from NPCs, or on the upgrade tab of crafting tables. Each Upgrade Recipe completed yields a certain number of Technology points. These points can be used to upgrade the item, and when enough points have been earned, the upgrade will be claimed and its additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When a player improves an item it will be replaced with an item that is new. This means that the same armor piece will get a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item upgrader kit will also come with a bonus of its own. This can be a disadvantage, as it can make the item more expensive if you do not need it.
Upgrades to items can be rerolled, if the player has enough tokens to do this. The item will be replaced with the same item, but it is based on a level 1 base and totally different bonuses. This is a good option for some items, but it's not something that should be performed frequently, since it can use up lots of resources.
Certain upgrades can be rerolled multiple times which increases their value and allowing the player to customize their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it provides an increase in power if the player continuously enters or exits the water. It can be upgraded multiple times, each time increasing the max roll by a factor of 10. This item can be very valuable in PvP as the best version of it can be worth between 20 and 50x its value if it is not upgraded.
Requirements
Item upgrading allows players to boost the level of their available equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate items and currencies to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces also improve the strength of their base defense and weapon upgrades items boost their base damage and also increase their strength and dexterity.
Each item can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception of hero gear that can have eight upgrades. Each when you upgrade an item it is given the chance to fail. The failure rate increases the more you go over the maximum number of upgrades. Failures will cause the item to revert back to its original state, requiring the player to spend more money on materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the highest number of upgrades.
If an item fails to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. Additionally the item will lose any gained bonuses, including crit chance and attack damage, as well as all other effects that are associated with that effect (for instance, a higher healing over time or the speed of reloading). However, the user can still continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.
When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied in order from lowest to highest. This means that if a weapon gains an increase in its crit chance it will be applied before any increase in attack damage. Slots is a brand-new attribute that was added to item definitions. The value is calculated each time an upgrade occurs.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is dependent on its rarity score and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For example, a common equipment item may have five upgrades with a cost of 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items will have a much lower cost for each upgrade.
Premium items have different upgrade requirements in comparison to standard equipment. For instance, they may require fewer sowels, but they will require more minerals and erons. Regardless, the player must visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. Each equipment upgrade will require different amounts of upgrade ingredients in addition to the cost listed above.
